Money disappeared!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Money brought into SA via Bidvest; mandate signed.
  • Seven days later, my bank has no visibility on where the money is with Bidvest.

Brought money into the country where the transaction is facilitated by Bidvest (not my choice), which is then in theory supposed to reflect in your own bank account. It's been 7 days since the money arrived in SA and Bidvest has no clue where it is! Mandate was signed and my bank hasn't got visibility on where the money is, on Bidvest!

Customer Service

AI Highlights
  • Wants to use Bidvest account to buy furniture online; PayU is the only payment option.
  • Support screamed at me and lacked PayU knowledge.

I have a Bidvest call account which I would like to use to buy furniture online. I phone customer service to asked if I could register for the PayU platform as it is the only way to pay.

Was literally screamed at by the customer support person which did not even know that the PayU platform excited. Would be nice to bank with someone that actually support you and offers solutions to problems.

User's recommendation: Don’t consider Bidvest as a bank.

  • Transfer from Capitec to Old Mutual on 31 July not reflected; Bidvest Bank mentioned.
  • Check MASC616293 with Old Mutual; resolve ASAP.

I transfered money from capitec to old mutual money account on 31st July and it still has not reflected on the old mutual account. I've called several times and bidvest bank name has come up a few times.

I need those funds sorted as soon as possible. Check ref MASC616293 with old mutual. I am inconvinienced by this unnecessary delay. Whenever i call i get a different story.

Someone did not do a proper job.

And now I've to suffer. Pls sort this out sooner0

User's recommendation: NO recommendations. I've been failed.

NO ASSISTANCE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Shop raid; R1.2M batteries stolen; R30k paid to trap a supplier; Bidvest refunded; anonymous payment later.

I was a solar and gas business owner which sold mainly solar batteries and panels, my shop was raided by bidveat protea coin along with the hawks for stolen tower batteries (was also shown on carte blanch) they threatened to lock me up if i did not pay for a trap for our supplier. I had to pay R30000 from my account for the supplier to deliver the goods so that they could arrest him, we saw how they beat up the supplier and put a bag over his head with a cable tie strap and they told us that we dont see anything happen here or else.

So we did our best to assist them in what they need and they took more than 1.2 million rands worth of batteries which we had invoices for, also they agreed to pay us back the R30000 which we had to pay for the trap. After 8 months we received a payment from a annonamous standard bank account and the next day bidvest called me to ask if i received the money, i explained to them that the account was frozen due yo what happened and that we closed the business, the bank for the business where they paid our money in requested a proof of payment to state that it was bidvest that refunded us or else they can not unfrerze the account for us tho close the account and receive the money, they gave me the email address to send the enquiry yo and i did so. They did not reply so we went to bidvest offices, when we got there to enquire about the payment they said they are not aware of our refund and that they also do not know about the case what happened with us involving their workers. We have solid proof of the refund that they agreed upon also video clips and messages between us and bidvest stating most of what i said.

I believe that this was an inside job and was not fully reported and done by the books.

We suffer tremendous losses and living in fear not knowing what to expect. Please help us solve this as we already did go to lawyard where after that they spoke to bidvest suddenly told us that they cannot assist us with a case.
